Dog Policy

If you can’t bear to leave your beloved pet with friends, family or even in kennels while you take off for that well deserved break, why not head to a pet-friendly Holiday Park in the centre of Rotorua where you and your pet can enjoy a brilliant break. However, to make all guests comfortable during their stay, we do have some rules here:

  • If you are going to bring any pets, you must inform our office in advance via email when you have made a booking and upon check-in. Without an agreement in advance, this could cause cancellation of your accommodation without any refund.
  • Dogs only permitted in your own accommodation facility – i.e. your van or tent. $5.00 camping fee per dog per day applies to dogs accompanying van or tent guests.
  • $50.00 bond required for any dog staying in our rooms, plus $10.00 per dog per day for dogs in rooms.
  • Dogs must not be taken into any communal buildings i.e. camp kitchen, TV room, camp bathrooms.
  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times within the campground.
  • Please pick up your dog's mess immediately, otherwise extra cleaning fee may apply.
  • Dogs in our campground should be well socialised and tolerate other dogs and adults / children around.
  • Dogs must not be a nuisance to other guests.

We love having your dogs here to stay. Please follow the rules, and if we can help in any way please ask.

But we will not tolerate disobedient dog owners. You will be asked to leave camp without any refund and there may be extra charges for any mess or damage caused.

Caravans get warm when the weather’s hot, so don’t leave your pet inside for long periods during the summer. Similarly, don’t start a long walk at the hottest time of the day.

  • Keep your dog on a leash at all times when you’re in the park.
  • Explore far and wide – walking your dog is a great opportunity to see parts of Rotorua that many people don’t get to see. Check which parks dogs are allowed in, and which have off-leash play areas.
  • Watch your dogs around geothermal activity. Cosy Cottage is surrounded by thermal features emitting steam, natural boiling pools and streams, and hot ground in places.
  • Bring plenty of doggie towels and grooming brushes as your pooch will get covered in sand at the beach, and fur may get tangled or dirty.
