Many Cosy Cottage International Holiday Park guests want to do the Tongariro Alpine crossing. We thought it time to go and find out for ourselves. A tough 6 – 8 hour alpine walk with fantastic vistas in unbelievable landscape. SUPERB! We have all the info and NATURAL HOT POOLS in which to soak your aching limbs when you get back to Cosy Cottage, Rotorua. Just what the doctor ordered!

Hi Cosy Cottage,
Last weekend my daughter (10 years) and I (38 years) walked the Tongariro Crossing, starting from Mangotepopo hut at 7:30am on Saturday 12 November. We had intended to stay at Ketetahi hut on the other side of the crossing that night, and drive to Cosy Cottage the next day.
However, we found ourselves starting the descend down to Ketetahi hut before noon, and with so many hours in the day left decided to dodge the hut, and instead of putting $50 towards the shuttle ride back to Mangotepopo car park the next day, enjoy your Cosy Cottage for an additional night. So we turned around and walked back over the crossing to Mangatepopo carpark where we arrived around 4pm. We had moved into our Cosy Cottage cabin and enjoyed hot water beach and your thermal baths by 7pm that night.
Both of us were delighted to be able to book in the extra night at Cosy Cottage, indeed the perfect place to rest after having walked the crossing (twice)!
